REVIT COMPOUND ROOFS

  1. Put a roof on walls (Roof by Footprint)- turn off all slopes (select edges and uncheck on Options Bar)
  2. In plan put on RP's for slope change points
  3. Pick the roof and use shape editing to add split lines
  4. The shape editing > Modify Sub elements
  5. The edges of each roof plane then defined by GREEN dashed to the roof edge and Blue solid to the split lines - all with square node indicators. Mouse hover to activate - changes to orange then pick to activate shape handles. Move points up and down by entering an offset to base level (or drag).
  6. Modify sub-element deactivates rather easily - keep reselecting the Mod Sub Elements tab. If its not selected all the notes change to orange. Dragging will move all the split line nodes together along the workplane parallel to the slope line.
